Harold And Maude(1971)
Despite an half century age gap, Harold and Maude are brought together by a shared obsession with funerals in this very different romantic comedy.

When you think of life and death, these two are definitely not the first thing you think of. Harold is a man that lives for death while Maude really is a woman who 'dies' to live. We pick up this story in a pleasant way, chirpy music being played, a scene being set and the chair really being kicked out from your feet, leaving you hanging with a weird feeling of 'did he really just hang himself for the fun of it?'. This is the life of Harold, a enthusiast of death, pretending to die in every way possible. Slitting your wrist, bullet to the brain or even set alight; this is the way Harold lives. He likes to watch the life slip away from everything, even buildings, and he is quite the manically depressed man. He's 20 years old but since his first deadly experience, he romances death to death. This film really does prove that it is a cult classic as it fills you with such emotion yet leaves you so empty on the inside, in a good way. I left feeling that no matter what, people should see this, even though it romanticises love so much, it leaves an impression that is never forgot. 5/5
