The year is 2012. New York has only 1 human resident left. His name is Robert Neville. Why is he the last human. 3 years earlier people thought they had found a cure for all cancers (well presumably all) and it works very simply you reprogram the cancer cells so they do good instead of doing bad. Unfortunately it mutates and either kills the person or turns them into zombies. It then turns into a virus that is spread around and kills everyone. Robert Neville is part of the 1% of humanity who is immune to it and so when everyone evacuates New York he stays behind to work on a vaccine. All he has with him is his dog Sam. And that is all I am telling you about the plot. You may ask why I won't tell you anything more about what happens. Because if I do, I will ruin the film. Anyway the goods and bads. Goods. The acting of Will smith who plays Robert is amazing. He is believable and he plays the part amazingly. He does the happiness so well, when he is sad and when he is going crazy at one point it is amazing. The filming and the landscape is amazing and the way it is filmed to give the horror aspect is fantastic. Well any other goods will have to wait for later because I will leave that to the spoiler section situated at the end of the review. The bads. Ok this is a good and a bad at the same time. They filmed 2 endings to the film. 1 was released and the other is hard to find, luckily they went for the better ending but (and please note I do not watch films that have been pirated I do not approve of it in any way) some early copies that were pirated do have the worse ending on it. Now before you ask I only found out about this because of a friend saying about the other ending on a website. Also the film is so good and they promised a prequel some years ago and we are still waiting so when someone is asking me questions about "oh why does this happen" I don't have to make up some false stuff. Ok how do I rate this. I rate this 5/5 and you must watch it. SPOILER ALERT. PLEASE DO NOT READ ON IF YOU WANT TO COME TO THE FILM WITHOUT KNOWING SPOILERS. Ok. This film has some flashbacks. Which are done so well. When the daughter and the mum dies it is so sad. Ok second death the dog. His death is again so sad and so well done and when you know what happenes all you can think on the run up is I want him to survive, but he has to die. And the final death of Robert. Through out the flashback bits the girl makes with her hands a butterfly and says "look dad it's a butterfly." When the zombies go to kill him one of them is headbutting the glass to destory it and after a few hits a butterfly can be seen made up of the cracks and then he sacrifices himself for the 2 kids he has found can live. Again it is really sad. Ok that is everything. Hope you enjoyed reading this
