Stardust (2007)

The fantasy adventure film ‘Stardust’ is a fun film to watch. It has good goodies and, more importantly, bad baddies. It’s set in the 1800s, in a nice village somewhere in England. The village is right next to a wall which separates the country from a magical land. It is forbidden to cross the wall, but that doesn’t stop one young man from doing so to find a fallen star so the girl he loves will marry him.

‘Stardust’ was definitely enjoyable. The actors are all good, but Robert de Niro stole the screen in all of his scenes. The fantasy world is well done, despite the dodgy CGI. Humour, adventure, romance- I think there’s something for just about everyone in the film. But perhaps what really makes it shine (no pun intended) is the fact that it’s sort of cosy- the idea of having an amazing mystical land right next door, available for adventure but not too far from home is just nice. You can go out and fight witches but be back in time for dinner.

So, overall, I really enjoyed ‘Stardust’. It’s a little cheesy in parts, but I would say that you should just go and watch it.
