This film follows the story Louis "Louie" Zamperini, a young Olympic Athlete who serves as a bombardier in the United States Army Air Force, who desperately struggles to survive, during the war. This year of 2014, yet another third great true story World War II film following the successful films of FURY (Brad Pitt) and The Imitation Game (Benedict Cumberbatch). The performances give away the right emotion of a movie from this genre. Actor Jack O'Connell (Eden Lake, Starred Up) gave a great performance of his character during the entire film showing rough, gritty, yet engaging tale of one man and his desperation and struggle of survival. Like many other war films, Unbroken did a great job carrying the reality of war from the beginning and end. I was really impressed by actress Angelina Jolie's change of acting to directing a film based on World War II.
