“The Motorcycle Diaries” is a film set in 1952 based on the book published in 1995. It is about two men named Fuser and Mial that go on an 8,000 km long dream motorcycle trip throughout America, starting from Buenos Aires. They wanted to see around America and what they’ve read about. However things don’t go to plan as their motorcycle breaks and a lack of money. The film is in Spanish with English subtitles. Don’t get me wrong, I usually am put off by subtitled films as it annoys me when you have to read and watch at the same time, but this film was actually surprisingly good. I enjoyed the comic arguments between them both and the journey they had. The acting and directing by Walter Salles were very good and it is moving. I think it is a great recreation of the true story it is based on. I liked the cinematography as it goes form the dusty desserts to the freezing snowy Chile Mountains. However I did get confused at times as you sort of get lost in where they are and how they got there, I wasn't sure if they made it or not in the end. Overall, I really enjoyed the film but there are some flaws.
