Although I am not a horror movie fan, nor a fan of the 'supernatural' in films I did find myself thoroughly enjoying this fantastic film. The story itself follows a family who have recently moved into a new house, however just after moving into the house the family's youngest son- Dalton- slips suddenly into a coma after falling from a ladder in the loft. Doctors cannot explain how or why or what they can do to help the boy so the family are forced accept that the cause of the coma may not be as natural as they first thought...
The acting and the character development of this film was absolutely faultless, particularly for Patrick Wilson, who played John Lambert, father of Dalton, who change from a shy, protective father to a brave and loving man. Insidious was obviously a very carefully sculpted film, which had an incredible new take and concept of the whole supernatural. The film was full of jumpy moments, one of which literally had me jump across the room for safety! The music of the film also fitted perfectly and created an atmosphere that majorly benefited to the overall film experience.
