Midnight In Paris (2011)

Midnight in Paris is a unique film about an american writer who takes a trip to Paris and seemingly travels in time every night, at midnight on the dot. I was really impressed with the storyline of the film, a brilliant and thought-provoking idea that entertains and captivates the audience. The acting in the film was superb, from a great cast. Owen Wilson was particularly good as the main role, and I particularly liked his facial expressions. The thing I liked the most about the film was the way it was filmed. The on-screen relationships and conversation seemed normal and unscripted, as opposed to Hollywood blockbusters with constant witty comebacks and long eloquent speeches. This made the characters seem more real and the film more engaging. I also liked the fact there was no background music when people were talking - music was only used when people were walking in silence or the director was setting the scene. Having watched the film, I went straight out, bought a copy, and watched it again. I would recommend this to anyone, particularly people with an interest in Parisian history, and significant figures in literature.
