Doctor Zhivago is a romantic drama produced in 1965 and directed by David Lean, starring many well-known actors from quite a few nationalities The story is set in the Russian revolution and is roughly based on the original novel written by Boris Pasternak. The basic plot involves lieutenant Yevgraf Zhivago (Alec Guinness) searching for the daughter of his half brother: Yuri Zhivago (Omar Shariff) and Larissa Antipova (Julie Christie). Yevgraf thinks that a young women-Tonya Komarova (Rita Tushingham) may be his daughter and she begins to tell him the story of her amazing Fathers’ perilous and wonderful life. Using this plot Doctor Zhivago is basically an emotional and intriguing flashback. It is one of my favourite films which is why I gave it a four star… Well done David Lean for creating an amazing film!
