The film “Christmas Story” may not have been my first choice to watch during the festive holidays but nevertheless I grew to love the sad yet slightly predictable movie. I’m not going to say it was ‘heart-warming’ or ‘entertaining’ but I will say that it’s a good movie for when you need to work and your little brother and sister are annoying you. Just stick them in front of the T.V, pop the film in and go back to doing what you were doing.
At the start I was a little dubious about what would happen after little Isaac’s parent and baby sister died but I learned not to judge a film before character development and plot twists.
I then realised that there may not have been many plot twists but that made it all the better ( I mean imagine if one minute Santa was learning how the make toys then the next he discovered a magical portal to a parallel universe.)
Later on in the film I start to sympathize with poor Isaac, the actor did a great job of conveying Isaac’s emotions.
I give this film 3 stars as I didn’t have great expectations, (unlike Charles Dickens) for this film but nonetheless enjoyed it.
