Finally a GOOD rugby film that actually includes
what rugby really is on the pitch where all
the had hits happen, but also behind the the games
where the real stress and hard work really happens
and where you're pushed to your limits.
1995 South Africa; a country full of conflict and argument
as a new president; Nelson Mandela steps up
to take control of this dreaded country ripped in
two one side white and the other black.
1995 The Springboks; a failing rugby team on the edge of
disbanding, looking for some hope, some help
and some fight.
This amazing film shows how two men of different
attitudes, different hopes and different skin can
come together and use something so simple as
the great sport of rugby and save an entire country.
by trying their very best to win the world cup.
This film demonstrates the intensity between the
Black and the white people and how we can use
our every day things to bring us and every one
closer to a compromise.
Another amazing performance by Morgan Freeman
and another trophy to add to his collection.
Also another great performance by Matt Damon as
Francois Pienaar; the captain that lead the Boks
in the 1995 world cup.
I enjoyed this film highly as a rugby player
and as a lover of films as is shows so many different
things that are usually hidden in the film and shows industry.
I also enjoyed the acting and thought that Matt Damon
should be in more films ( I later found out he played Jason Bourne ).
