Down To Earth (2001)

Down to Earth is an uplifting comedy produced by Barry. M . Berg , starring the contriversial comedian ,Chris Rock . Chris Rock plays a man named Lance..who is nicknamed Booey because everytime he performs his comedy act at the Apollo, people "boo" him off of the stage. Due to circumstances beyond his control...and the mistakes of an angel...Lance is killed by a truck. But not before catching a glimpse of the woman of his dreams, Sontee. However , Because the powers above made the mistake of taking Lance before his time was up, he is given the opportunity of taking over someone else's body who has recently died, but has yet to have been discovered...and so the comedy begins. Before Lance dies, it is announced that the Apollo theatre will be closing, and 5 lucky amateurs will be given the opportunity to perform a last show. Lance desperately wants that chance. However, Lance is given the body of a fifty odd year old rich man...the 15th richest man in America, Charles Wellington. This movie is absolutely hilarious. You just have to keep in mind that although you are seeing Chris Rock act, he is supposed to be an old fragile man. Lance's character looks for love and success in his new body and faces a lot of obstacles, which make this movie a great watch.I highly recommend this movie to anyone with a sense of humour. i would also reccomened this film to viewers over the age of 12 as the film has a bit of unsutible content , in all this was a GOOD film !
