This film was one of the first Black and White films I ever watched. Set in the in deserts of North Africa (World War II), an Ambulance crew is separated from it's unit when evacuating a North African Base. John Mills (a drunk) is in command of the group of Medical Army Personnel. Along their travels they run across a man who appears to be a brusque South African, but he's not everything he claims to be. It may be an old film, but it was defiantly the best Black and White film I've ever watched. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a drunk in charge of an Army squad traveling to the city of Alexandria in North Africa on his quest to drink an Ice cold pint of beer!
