Waste of time. That's all I can say. Jon Turteltaub has wasted his time once again. Don't get me wrong he has done some good films but there were still some films that just went wrong. Like National Treasure and this. The Sorcerer's Apprentice defiantly did not catch my eye. This film has an un-secure plot because the baddie comes to kill, then he retreats, the he comes to kill again, then he retreats again and on and on and on and on. It has tacky, made up spells which just sounds like gibberish and the acting is another thing that did not appeal to me.
If, lets say, you are willing to sit through this grudge then I will give you the basic story: Balthazar is a sorcerer. He is Merlin’s apprentice, along with two others, Veronica and Horvath. But Horvath is Balthazar’s arch-enemy so they begin a battle involving the not-so-ordinary New Yorker, Dave. Dave combines his science and magic with Balthazar’s even greater magic to fight as one to defeat Horvath and his fellow companions.
Overall, this film was a big mess so I would rate it 2/5 and I would defiantly not recommend this film to anyone as it has an unsecure plot, tacky spells and bad acting. I defiantly hope that they don’t make a sequel because if they do… I defiantly won’t be watching it!
