It is so rare to find a film with a level of imagination anywhere close to 'The City of Lost Children'. This is easily one of my favorite films of all time because it really is truly original and shows a real commitment to world building that just isn't seen these days; I don't want to turn into an old man sat at the back of the room shouting "everything was better in the old days!" But this film really is living proof that no CGI fest will ever compare to real, physical set building. The whole look of the film is truly immersive and does a wonderful job of engaging you in the brilliant story and spectacular performances. You may not have herd of 'The City of Lost Children' but it will certainly stand shoulder to shoulder with all your childhood classics.
