When I saw this movie I wondered what it would be like, all I knew is that it looked like a ‘Die Hard’ spin off with African-American actors. Then I saw ‘A Spike Lee Joint’ come up on the screen and I sat up and paid immediate attention! Starring Denzel Washington, this shows masked criminals attempted to rob a bank, holding people hostage inside it. The CIA have to do certain things or hostages get killed, just like any other movie. To be really honest I felt that another movie in a ‘Die Hard’ style movie really isn’t appropriate and considered stopping the movie, until halfway through where you realise that not everything is as it seems. There’s a lot of trickery and you can see all the Spike Lee inspired camera angles which truly was amazing. But unlike Die Hard (Which has to be a comparison for this movie) its not all about the action, they’ve actually thought about the story and have provided enough twists to really excite and intrigue you. Halfway through I felt a bit lethargic but I survived, just a little hint to anyone wanting to watch this. However I have to advise people to watch this movie due to the unique way it displays the ‘hostage’ type genre, if there is such thing!
