The Kite Runner (2007)

This is a wonderful adaption of Khalid Hosseini's book, highlighting the political and emotional aspects of Afghanistan and living there, many of what happens in the film is happening today, and I guess the film sort of advertises the importance of realising just how severe the injustice in Afghanistan is. The actors are wonderful, Khalid Abdalla really knows how to act out 'Amir'. I think it would be real fun and probably a peek in through the life of an Afghan person, if we actually got to interview these actors who know so much about the characters. All in all, this beautiful rendition of The Kite Runner leaves me slightly serene knowing that there was a happy ending tainted with old memories and regrets. Also, in this story of afghan politics the film really did manage to highlight how important friendship and loyalty is, and it's almost like Amir got a second cance to 'be good again'.
