I do not know how to describe this film because throughout I was speechless. The miniscule glimpse we receive of life as an Iranian girl is astonishing and leaves the audience flabbergasted. It is because it depicts life that is so separate to ours. The fact that the movie is in cartoon form lures the viewer into a false sense of security because we are conned into believing, because it is in the media of cartoon, that it is a Childs film-but then we are hit with war, depression, sex and drugs. I think this film has to be watched by someone who really is poles apart from the character because then it has the desired impact- to leave people with a real taste- or distaste of the way people-girls in particular are treated.
