Philadelphia is an American court room drama based on a succesful lawyer who was fired, which he believes is because has company knew he had AIDS. He seeks help from a lawyer who supports his case in the court room, who is very brave because at the time of the film, the homosexual society was less equal. This is similar to 'To Kill A Mockingbird' where Atticus is defending a black man which was again very brave as there was lots of discrimination at the time. The film has been directed very well and helps you to understand the different issues at the time. The acting too is very good, especially Tom Hanks during the scene at the end where he is fighting the illness. Overall, I would recommend this film, especially if you like court room dramas but if you do not like sad films, I don't think that this is for you.
