Wow! I haven't watched a film like this in a long time and have been looking for an experience like the one "Big Fish" gave me. This isn't an ordinary film which takes you on an imaginary journey with a happy ending but a movie which embraces the viewer and makes you question reality and ask, "Is life really how we see it, or is it all a dream?" If you are the type of person who likes just to relax back watch some light entertainment, then I would advise that you look away from the film "Big Fish", as you are in danger of watching something that makes you think and try to find the message inside this parable. It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster throughout the full 125 minutes of viewing time. In the first 15 minutes it is quite confusing and hard to grasp. To be honest, I thought it was a classic weird and whacky Tim Burton film and was starting to lose interest. But don't be put off by the start, as the rest of the story ties up most of the lose ends and you feel like you can't look away because you are so desperate to find out what is fact and what is fiction. Overall, this film made me think and want to explore deeper into the story to find the truth. Not many films have ever gave me this experience and after watching this I am now on the look-out for more Tim Burton specials. I would reccomend this film to anyone with a keen mind.
