I really enjoyed this film, as i am very much into ballroom dancing as it is a part time hobby of mine, and whilst watching the film i wished i was the main character. For me when the film came to an end i was extreemly sad,as it had finished and i just wish that there is going to be a sequal. The best bits in this film was where the two mian characters were dancing on the dance studio's roof, this was a very touching scene, however a little while after when they kissed- brought a tear to my eye. Another one of the best bits for me was the transformation of fran which made me thing of the classic ugly duckling tale. I thought it was really good when scott chose fran to become his partner and at this point i wished that i was in her position ;) The movie is funny, energetic, and enjoyable - the perfect film for a night or an afternoon out, regardless of what mood you're in.Strictly Ballroomis filled with energy and color. The dance numbers are splendidly choreographed and the soundtrack is vibrant and varied. The romantic elements, while skillfully downplayed, are relegated to the background.Strictly Ballroom represents the best in light entertainment, and, apart from a slight fall-off during the second half, there aren't many flaws. The movie has wit, style, and a special brand of irreverence that allows it to work as a love story, a comedy of manners, and a satire. Strictly Ballroom is a welcome surprise, and the perfect antidote for the late winter blues. Even though it's cold and icy outside, you'll leave the theater with a warm feeling deep inside. im off now to go and watch it again. thanks for reading my review.love you xxx
