Groundbreaking drama-documentary directed by Humphrey Jennings about the lives and day-to-day work of a group of firemen during the London Blitz of World War Two, with all the parts played by real firemen. This fascinating film focuses on a new recruit as he gradually learns the ropes, and reaches its crux in his first mission as part of a team tackling a blaze in a warehouse on London's docks. The film helped convey the ordinary heroism that was taking place on the home front in an embattled 1943 Britain.
Charming comedy from the era of Britain's strict post-war food rationing, in which residents hatch a plan to eat all they want and keep the pubs open.
