Synopsis

This clever and funny animated 'mockumentary' follows a young penguin who dreams of becoming a professional surfer. The film crew follow rock hopper penguin Cody Maverick on his path to taking part in the biggest surfing event of the year - a memorial event for Big Z, a legendary surfer who seemingly died nine years ago. Along the way he meets a wacky surfing chicken, falls for a penguin lifeguard and learns some important life lessons from his new mentor, The Geek, who might just have a secret identity...

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
