A glossy, unashamedly feel-good 1960s-set musical drama that charts the meteoric rise of a fictitious girl-group, and warns of the dangers of selling your soul for fame and fortune. The group may be called The Dreams, but this is really a thinly-veiled version of the story behind soul-singing sensations The Supremes and their rocky road to super-stardom. First-time actress Jennifer Hudson won an Oscar for her incredible performance as the group's lead singer, Effie White.
Contains one use of strong language and hard drug references.
