Synopsis

Hilarious, over-the-top fantasy adventure, based on the 1930s comic strip and TV adventure series. Flash Gordon is an American football player who, along with girlfriend Dale Arden, accidentally travels into space with scientist Dr Zarkov. As they head for planet Mongo, they fall victim to evil Emperor Ming the Merciless. Not only does he kidnap Dale, and attempt to kill Flash, but he's also plotting to destroy the Earth. Now Flash must enlist the help of the planet's oddball inhabitants to save the day, and the girl!

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
