Synopsis

From master animator Hayao Miyazaki - the mind behind such wonderful movies as Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle - comes a fantastical tale of action and adventure above the clouds. The film concerns the talented pilot of the title - transformed into a pig by a magic spell, but still concerned with protecting airships from marauding fiends. But the arrival of a hot-headed American pilot looking to make a name for himself sets Porco his greatest challenge yet. A beautiful, whimsical yarn from Japan.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
