Synopsis

This sprightly, stylish movie, set in Chicago in the 1930s, follows a pair of confidence tricksters as they pull off the biggest job of their careers. Their con - and the film's plot - is extremely complicated, centreing around a betting shop where the customers gamble on horse races. It's nail-biting stuff that has the audience firmly on the side of the tricksters, willing their ruse - or "sting" - to come off.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
