Colt Seavers is a stuntman who, for most of his career, has expertly taken on the blows, the crashes, and the falls in place of Hollywood action hero Tom Ryder. After one too many injuries, he abandons both the profession and his girlfriend Jody, a camerawoman. She is now directing her first major film, starring Ryder, and Colt gets talked into returning as his stunt double. But it turns out that Jody is still angry with him, and when the star of the show goes missing, it's up to Colt to track him down and win back his love, unexpectedly calling upon all his stage-fighting and car-chasing skills to deal with the shady underworld that Ryder has been mixed up in. This action-packed comedy is a celebration of the art of stunt work, offering a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into making a big blockbuster film.
