Babs is 9 years-old and lives in a pretty Dutch town, spending her time skateboarding with her best friend and helping her parents in the garden. Although her family is vegetarian, everyone in town is excited about the famous sausage-making competition happening soon. One day her grandfather, who she has never met before, arrives back after a long time in America. Although Babs’ mother is frustrated by his return, as he was absent for most of her life, Babs is delighted when he gifts her a piglet. Oink is very cute but poorly behaved, so Babs takes him to puppy training classes. However, a dark secret is revealed about her grandfather, putting the family unit and Oink at risk. This delightful animation offers a very gentle introduction to the ethics of meat consumption, while remaining light-hearted and accessible. Be prepared for a few jumpy yet fuzzy moments and much piggy muckiness!
