The planet-sized God Unicron and his army of Terrocons attack a world inhabited by the Maximals, a species of robot-animal hybrids, who flee under their new leader Optimus Primal to prehistoric Earth. Years later, in 1994 Brooklyn – seven years after the events of ‘Bumblebee’ – an ex-military electronics expert named Noah struggles to find a job to support his family, namely his sick younger brother who needs medical costs covered. Alongside artifact researcher Elena, Noah stumbles upon a mysterious sculpture which features a Maximal symbol, and together they discover the existence of the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime. With the help of Noah, Elena, and the Maximals, the Autobots must locate a sought-after piece of technology before the Terrocons do to protect Earth and enable them to return to their home planet.
