In their hometown of Guildford in the south of England, best friends Rikke Brewer and Aiden Knox use parkour to escape their mundane lives. Rikke aims to forge a career for himself in the world of urban exploration, shooting videos of his friendship group as they scale tall buildings and illegally surf trains, even travelling to Europe on occasions to do so. However on one such trip a close friend of Rikke’s and Aiden’s is tragically killed in an accident. While Rikke continues with his stunts, Aiden is particularly shaken by the incident and attempts to process his trauma. As Rikke must contend with looming legal action as a result of his activities, Aiden starts to think more seriously about what he wants from his life. ‘Off the Rails’ is a gripping coming-of-age documentary which explores issues including mental health, addiction, family relationships, and careers.
