Although many excellent adaptations of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ have been made over the years, this particular version takes an innovative approach to the age-old story of the grumpy Ebeneezer Scrooge and his love for wealth and power. Beginning with a Victorian performance of the classic tale, the film soon dives into the imagination and fantasies of a child in the audience, whisking us away to a darker, fantastical realm where the spirits and characters of the novel spring into life. Incorporating modern dance and contemporary special effects into the spooky, but festive, goings on, this is ‘A Christmas Carol’ like you’ve never seen it before.
