Meet Guy, a normal, everyday bank teller who lives a very abnormal life in Free City, where violence, bank robberies and explosions are an everyday occurrence. What Guy does not know is that he is an NPC (a ‘non-playable character’) in a hugely popular but particularly brutal open world video game. When computer programmers Millie and Keys develop a program to infiltrate Free City, Guy is made aware of his world being part of a video game and decides to become the hero of his own story for the first time. Now facing a battle against the odds to stop Free City from being shut down by the developers, Guy and his newfound allies are forced to go to mind-blowing lengths to also save themselves. Undoubtedly action-packed but with a philosophical edge, Free Guy takes a look at the idea of free will, heroism and how modern technology is shaping our realities.
moderate violence, sex references, infrequent strong language
