Synopsis

Deciding to take a break from spinning cotton, a woman bites into an apple and finds a strange worm inside. After feeding him, she discovers that he has a remarkable gift for spinning cotton and takes him back to her father to show him what she’s found. But her father has selfish and greedy motives, hiding the worm away in a cage and force-feeding him baskets of apples to get rich from the cotton. This short animated fairy tale showcases the power of storytelling with a clear moral about greed at its centre.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
