Synopsis

For over forty years, photographer Sebastião Salgado has travelled the world capturing some of the defining global events of the era, including war, famine and economic deprivation, in stark, uncompromising turns. Now his son, working with master director Wim Wenders, is telling his extraordinary life story on screen, traveling with Sebastião as he embarks on an attempt to reconnect with the natural world and the planet’s flora and fauna. Projecting Salgado’s images on screen as he discusses them, the film is an engrossing take on one man’s unique world-view, a powerful insight into the human condition and a tribute to the planet’s staggering natural beauty.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
