Synopsis

One man making and taking phone calls while driving his car is the simple and ingeniously effective premise for this original thriller. Tom Hardy puts in a brilliant performance as Ivan Locke, a successful Welsh construction site manager who has worked hard to achieve the life he has envisioned for himself. But on the eve of his – and Europe’s - largest job yet, he receives a phone call that threatens to destroy his career and family. Moving and full of suspense, the film holds us in the grip of Locke’s predicament as he tears down the English motorway in the dark, railing against the memory of his father when he’s not on a call. It shows how just one decision can alter the course of our lives forever.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
