Set in 1980s Texas, this is the moving account of real-life AIDS victim and campaigner Ron Woodruff. Despite his emaciated frame and frequent blackouts when hard drinking, the homophobic rodeo cowboy is unaware of his illness until doctors give him 30 days to live. His diagnosis and failure to land a place on a drugs trial leads Ron to embark on an alternative course of treatment for himself, and to secure this for the victims he claimed to detest. McConaughey’s performance as a dying man forced to confront his own prejudices lends the film a powerful emotional weight.
Contains strong language, sex, sex references and drug use
