Mark Wahlberg stars in this rags-to-riches biopic of Micky Ward, a professional boxer from working-class Massachusetts. Following an embarrassing defeat, Micky retreats from the sport and breaks ties with his brother, a drug addict and former boxer himself, who once acted as Micky's trainer. Though it's not long before Micky finds himself in the ring again - and the professional and personal stakes are higher than ever... Featuring heavyweight performances from Wahlberg and Christian Bale as Micky's troubled brother, it's no surprise the film won two Academy Awards.
Tough, emotionally powerful film about a down-on-his luck boxer who gets an unexpected chance at becoming a pro fighter.
