In this entertaining documentary, comedian Chris Rock - troubled by something his young daughter said tries to understand the relationship African-American women have with their hair. Why do so many women use straighteners or hair extensions - expensive, time consuming and even painful ways to make their hair look as unlike its natural state as possible? Rock explores the huge hair product industry and quizzes dozens of women - and some men. Maybe he doesn't quite get to simple conclusion, but it's a funny and informative journey.
This film contains strong language and moderate sex references.
