Synopsis

Disney's first foray into Hindi-language cinema is the story of likeable underachiever, 8 year-old Ishaan. Based on the childhood of Japanese director Akira Kurosawa, the film follows Ishaan as he arrives in a new school and meets his teacher, Ram. Ram recognises a hidden talent in Ishaan, but will he be able to convince everyone else? Exploring dyslexia in a smart and moving way, this is a Bollywood family film with a difference.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
