Synopsis
A boy-meets-girl story with a twist, the girl in question is a mermaid. Tom Hanks plays the fruit and veg dealer with a secret - his girlfriend Madison (Daryl Hannah) is a creature of the sea, top half female, bottom half fish. A comic romantic fantasy that obviously could be accused of being wet, but audiences of the time loved it and critics praised its essential sweet nature.
