In this session, designed for educators delivering film qualifications, you'll get to grips with the basics of mise-en-scène and the crucial role it plays in helping us to interpret films.

We'll show you how you can use highlights from a range of films to introduce key terminology and explore the evolution of mise-en-scène over time. Through focused activities, you'll examine each of the components of mise-en-scène in isolation and analyse how they combine to achieve specific effects.

Throughout the session, you'll have plenty of opportunities to connect with like-minded educators and gain access to resources you can take back to the classroom.
