Did you know that Welsh Government has an Anti-Racist Plan and that its ambition is for Wales to be an Anti-Racist country by 2030?
The Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan sets out a series of actions to make a real difference to the lives of people. The Plan aims to make meaningful changes to the lives of Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities and signals a new approach to tackling race inequality and racism. Its goal is to create a Wales where everyone thrives and feels valued.
Event information : 14 November 2024 : 9.45am-1pm : Chapter, Cardiff : Young people from schools/colleges across Cardiff (15+ only) are invited to join Into Film Cymru, Race Council Cymru and S4C to take part a screening of the film Windrush 75 followed by a Q&A session with Race Council Cymru representatives and guest speakers from the Windrush 75 project.
Important Information. Please note, it will be school’s responsibility to check the content of this event and potential triggers or themes and their suitability to their young people, and to ensure the young people are provided the relevant and suitable guidance and advice post-event. It is the school’s duty to ensure consent for the pupils attending these events.
Follow-up FREE Filmmaking workshops for all schools : In addition to attending this event, all schools involved will also receive a free filmmaking workshops as a follow-up to the event, where the young people will be encouraged and supported to explore, respond short films on these themes but also to make a short film about what an Anti-Racist Wales looks like to them. This film will then be submitted into S4C’s Anti-Racist Filmmaking competition and Into Film’s Film of the Month Competition. These sessions will be delivered at the school and Into Film will coordinate dates with the teachers direct.

Bydd y ffilm hon wedyn yn cael ei chyflwyno i gystadleuaeth Creu Ffilm Wrth-Hiliol S4C a Chystadleuaeth Ffilm y Mis Into Film. Bydd y sesiynau hyn yn cael eu cyflwyno yn yr ysgol a bydd Into Film yn cydlynu dyddiadau gyda'r athrawon yn uniongyrchol.
