This approach to running a film club supports the new Digital Competence Framework in Wales* by offering a variety of opportunities for young people to develop essential digital literacy skills.
The Your Film Club, Your Way: Digital Literacy resource features questions and activities based on the short film The Storyteller (accessible via clips in the accompanying PowerPoint presentation), as well as thematic activities that guide leaders to decode clips from the short using the 3Cs (camera, character, colour) and 3Ss (story, setting, sound) of film. These activities create engagement with film through watching, discussing, analysing and filmmaking.
Please note that the Your Film Club, Your Way: Digital Literacy resource is designed to be flexible and work with any other short film on the Into Film catalogue.
* While Your Film Club, Your Way: Digital Literacy is best-suited for film clubs in Wales since the Digital Competence Framework was introduced in 2016, the resource can still be used by film clubs in other nations and regions to develop film literacy and digital skills.
